Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project needs more money for phase 1, according to the Ministry of Transport's statement

25/12/2023
The Ministry of Transport submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister for adjusting the investment for the first phase of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway construction project. They requested an increase in the total investment capital to VND7,496 billion (US$309 million), which is VND1,610 billion (US$66 million) more than initial estimate in the pre-feasibility study report approved by the Prime Minister.

Higher site clearance and construction costs necessitated the capital increase. Compensation and resettlement costs rose over VND 1 trillion (US$41 million) due to adjustments in land, crop, and structure compensation policies. Construction costs are also expected to jump by VND 644 billion (US$26.5 million) due to additional access roads and adaptations to the soft soil treatment plan based on recent geological surveys. To address this funding gap, the Ministry of Transport proposed allocating state budget capital for the project between 2022 and 2027.

Planned at over 27 kilometers long, the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway will start at the intersection with My An - Cao Lanh expressway in Dong Thap's Cao Lanh District and end at the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway in Tien Giang's Cai Be District. The first phase of this expressway features four lanes with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour.

As a prominent member of the joint venture contracted to design, estimate, and construct the Km00+000 to Km16+000 section of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway (Phase 1, Component 1) Thien An Construction and Mechanical Co., Ltd. is delighted to participate in this significant transportation infrastructure project.
