Package No. 2 of the Ben Thanh Suoi Tien Metro line - construction of the elevated section and Long Binh depot

Package No. 2 of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line project, which involves constructing the elevated section and a depot in Long Binh ward (District 9), was the first package started for construction among the project's four construction packages. The contract was awarded to the Sumitomo - CIENCO 6 joint venture with a construction period of 235 weeks. Since April 2013, mass drilling of piles for the elevated section has been carried out from Saigon Bridge to Station 2 Intersection. Over 500 piles have been drilled out of the total 3,000 needed. The contractor has also completed construction of pile caps and piers for Thao Dien station and Phuoc Long station.
 

The construction project of HCM City's urban railway line No. 1, the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien line, has a total adjusted investment of VND 47,325 billion, funded by 88.4% Japanese ODA loans (Official Development Assistance). The line runs through Districts 1, Binh Thanh, 2, 9, Thu Duc in HCM City and Di An district of Binh Duong province. It features a 2.2-kilometer underground section with 3 stations and a 17.5-kilometer elevated section with 11 stations.


The project has four packages, package 1A builds the underground section from Ben Thanh Station to Opera House Station, package 1B builds the underground section from Opera House Station to Ba Son Station, package 2 constructs the elevated section and a depot, package 3 includes procurement and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment, such as trains and carriages, package 4 builds the information technology system for the Railway Operation and Maintenance Department.

In package No.2 of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line project, Thien An Construction and Mechanical Co., Ltd. is honored to participate in the construction items of D1200 & D1500 bored piles, pile caps, piers and pier caps.
