Ho Chi Minh city's Ring Road 3 is a strategic traffic axis, creating a premise to remove bottlenecks and opening up new directions

Ring Road No. 3 is a crucial transportation artery. Its construction will eliminate traffic bottlenecks and unlock new opportunities for urban, industrial, commercial, and service development of HCM City and neighbouring provinces. This progress follows the city's successful handover of over 81% of the land needed for the section traversing its area.

According to the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of HCMC (TCIP), local authorities have secured approximately 335 hectares of the 410 hectares needed for the project within the city. Representative of this management authority reports that alongside land acquisition, contractor and consultant selection is progressing well. The project is expected to partially open to traffic in late 2025, with full completion targeted for 2026.

Spanning 90 kilometers and costing over VNĐ75.3 trillion (US$3.2 billion), Ring Road No.3 will traverse Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An provinces. Designed for speeds of 80-100 kilometers per hour, it features six dedicated lanes for regular traffic and two additional lanes for emergencies. The first phase will be a 76-kilometer, four-lane section constructed in stages by each locality within its territory. An overpass will connect the ring road with the HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway, linking Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh city and further connecting to the Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway, which leads to the beach city of Phan Thiet.

Ring Road No.3 isn't just a route, it's a vital transportation infrastructure. This strategic axis will connect Ho Chi Minh City to key destinations: the Mekong Delta via the HCM City – Trung Luong expressway, Long Thanh via Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway, the Cambodian border through the HCM City – Moc Bai expressway, and Binh Duong through the HCM City – Chon Thanh expressway. By eliminating traffic bottlenecks and fostering new development opportunities, Ring Road No.3 will unlock a brighter future for urban, industrial, commercial, and service sectors across the region. Last year, the government finally approved investment to restart construction on this long-delayed project.

Thien An Construction and Mechanical Co., Ltd. is proud to be part of the contractor joint venture responsible for constructing the Km23+550 to Km25+985 section of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3, which traverses Thu Duc City.
