Construction package J1 starts at Km 21+739.50 (adjacent to Package A4) and ends at Km 24+503 (adjacent to Package J2) with a total length of 2.7635 kilometers. It includes the Binh Khanh Bridge and viaducts, passing through Nha Be and Can Gio districts of Ho Chi Minh City. The winning bidder for package J1 is the joint venture between Shimizu Corporation (Japan) and Vinaconex Engineering and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (hereafter, Shimizu - Vinaconex E&C joint venture).

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project stretches 57.1 kilometers, traversing Long An province (2.7 kilometers in Ben Luc and Can Giuoc districts), Ho Chi Minh City (26.4 kilometers in Binh Chanh, Nha Be, and Can Gio districts), and Dong Nai province (28 kilometers in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts). Due to the complex geology, the project requires 20.1 kilometers of bridges and viaducts, including two large cable-stayed bridges: Binh Khanh Bridge and Phuoc Khanh Bridge. Both bridges boast a clearance gauge of 55 meters and have main span lengths of 375 meters and 300 meters, respectively.

Designed according to class A standards, the expressway will have 4 lanes, 2 emergency stopping lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h. Phase 1 will include 16 bridges and 6 intersections. Phase 2 will add 2 more intersections and incorporate box culverts for drainage at various locations along the route. It also includes separate sewer systems, underground utilities, and an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) for the entire route.

In the J1 package of Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project, Thien An Construction and Mechanical Co., Ltd. is involved in the construction of Binh Khanh bridge. Our scope of work includes constructing D1500 bored piles, piers, and balanced cantilever segmental box girders.
