Thu Thiem 2 Bridge has a scale of 6 lanes, with a total length of 1,465m, of which the bridge section is 885.7m long

The project investor, Dai Quang Minh Company, has announced that after being granted approval by the city, they immediately partnered with WSP Finland to expedite the basic design. This design, now approved by the Ministry of Transport, outlines a six-lane, 1,465-meter cable-stayed bridge with a 113-meter-tall tower leaning towards Thu Thiem. The bridge will serve as a striking gateway to the new urban area, enhanced by artistic lighting that will make it a prominent landmark on the Saigon River both day and night. The starting point of the project is the intersection between Ton Duc Thang - Le Duan Street (District 1), the end point of the project is at Crescent Boulevard (Route R1, District 2).
The Thu Thiem 2 Bridge construction project, with a total investment of 3,082.5 billion Vietnamese Dong, was initially scheduled for completion by the end of 2019. However, if the project site is handed over by Ba Son Corporation ahead of time, construction could be finished earlier. The bridge, connecting the city center with the new Thu Thiem urban area, is expected to boost development in the area. Local officials have emphasized the importance of safety, cost-efficiency, and high-quality construction due to the bridge's complex design and the soft ground conditions of the site.
 
To accelerate the project, city officials have urged District 1 authorities and relevant departments to expedite compensation and site clearance processes to meet the project timeline. Investor has been tasked with effective project management and financial planning to ensure timely completion. Given the project's significance and complex geological conditions, the Minister of Transport has emphasized the need for close monitoring, particularly regarding site clearance and traffic management during construction. Investor is expected to secure adequate funding and select qualified contractors to guarantee project quality and adherence to the schedule.
