Groundbreaking ceremony for the piles and foundation package of Long Thanh international airport's terminal

On March 30th 2022, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Package No. 5.6, "Passenger Terminal Piling Works," for the super project of Long Thanh International Airport's Phase 1, Component 3. This package involves constructing 1,560 bored piles (from 800mm to 1,200mm diameters) within 7 months (targeted completion: October 2022) to support the passenger terminal construction.
 


The winning consortium for Package No. 5.6 comprises Hanoi Construction Corporation (Hancorp), Vimeco JSC, Mechanized Construction JSC (MCS), Vietnam Construction and Import-Export JSC (Vinaconex), Thien An Construction and Mechanical Co., Ltd., and Fecon Corporation. March 2022's groundbreaking ceremony marks ACV's commitment to delivering project's component 3 on schedule, ensuring quality that meets project requirements.
 


ACV's project management board also signed a 50-day emulation agreement with construction contractors and the supervising consultant during the groundbreaking ceremony. This agreement aims to expedite ground leveling, drainage, and piling works for the passenger terminal before the rainy season, ensuring both timely project progress and maintaining the highest quality standards.
